He is still a free agent and one of the biggest question marks in the market. Zoran Erceg after a great season with Galatasaray in which he averaged 15 ppg, 4.3 rpg and shot 38,8% from the arc, still remains without a team.
Erceg was also one of the key members of the Serbian national team in the recent Eurobasket, averaging 8,3 ppg, 2,6 rpg and also shooting 38,5% in threes. And of course he had some very interesting offers during the summer. The most important were those of Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv, EA7 Emporio Armani Milano, Laboral Kutxa Vitoria and Valencia Basket.
Why he didn’t sign with them? The money offered by those clubs were much less than he expected. That’s why he chose to stay in the market and wait for a better offer during the season. Of course time is not his friend. If he doesn’t get what he wants until the end of the Euroleague regular season, he would probably take what’s better on the table. Until then, he can wait…
