Bayern Munich made a great performance in the first half (45-31) and beat BC Khimki 69-60 to claim their first victory in Group A.
For the winners, Nihad Djedovic was the top scorer with 16 points, with K.C Rivers adding 15. On the other hand, for the Russians, who suffered their first defeat in the group, Alexey Shved scored 16 points and James Augustine had 15.
Bayern Munich made a dominant first half and, playing excellent basketball both offensively and defensively, ended the first half in front by 14 points (45-31), with Khimki being unable to remain competitive.
In the second half, nothing changed significantly. Although the Russians cut the deficit to eight points after 30 minutes in the game (59-51), the Germans easily retained a nine or ten-point lead (67-58) and claimed a crucial victory, whereas Khimki made a mediocre performance, just one week after their triumph against defending champions Real Madrid.
