AEK BC got an admirable Eurocup win over former Euroleague participant Nizhny Novgorod (87-70), however one of the main issues of the press conference was if the Greek team will sign Sofoklis Schortsanitis.
The Greek center is released by Crvena Zvezda and he has been linked with AEK. However, according to coach Dragan Sakota his name is not, at least not yet, on the team’s plans: “Schortsanitis was never offered to us. We were offered many non Greek players during the last weeks, but not Sofo”.
For the result, Sakota added: “The fact that Nizhny has beaten recently CSKA Moscow motivated us more. We wanted a big win and we got it”.
