FC Barcelona Lassa got the easy 77-52 win over Panathinaikos in a game that ended up being a defensive exhibition for the Catalans. Justin Doellman had 13 points for the winners, but defense was the name of the game.
Panathinaikos had just 2/14 threes, Barcelona had a 41-34 rebounds advantage and with the exception of the third quarter, the hosts had the game in total control. They led by 42-28 at half time and Panathinaikos just couldn’t get back into the game. James Gist scored also 13 points for the Greens, James Feldeine added 10 and Miroslav Raduljica flirted with the double double (9 p., 9 r.).
On the other side Doellman had the support of Alex Abrines, Stratos Perperoglou and Ante Tomic who added 11 points each and in the last quarter Barcelona with a partial 22-9 score completed its triumph. It was a moral boost for the team of coach Pascual against one of its main opponents for the top of the regular group standings.
For Panathinaikos the absence of Vlado Jankovic and Ognen Kuzmic proved to be more than crucial for the team which had 10 players dressed for the game.
