With a great performance in the fourth quarter (22-14), Bayern Munich beat Strasbourg 76-61 at home. This was the second victory for the Germans, while the French team suffered their second defeat, one week after their triumph over Fenerbahce.
For the winners, Nihad Djedovic had 22 points, with Dusko Savanovic adding 18. For the French, Vladimir Golubovic was the top scorer with 22 points.
In the first quarter, Bayern Munich had control of the game and was retaining a small lead (18-12). However, in the second quarter, Strasbourg played better defensively and scored some crucial field goals to cut the deficit to two points (20-18). The Germans made a 7-0 run and were in front by nine points (27-18), but Strasbourg fought back again, made an 11-4 run and ended the first half down by just two points (31-29).
In the second half, the German team made an 11-3 run and took a double digit lead (42-32), looking ready to win the game. But, Strasbourg enhanced their performance and with an 11-2 run of their own, cut the deficit to just one point (44-43). Bayern, though, regained control and with a 10-4 run was in front by seven points after 30 minutes in the game (54-47). Svetislav Pesic’s team remained solid in the final quarter and, despite Strasbourg’s effort to reverse the situation, had no problem to easily win the game, behind a great offensive and defensive performance.
