Olympiacos is not yet the team that it can be, Spanoulis is not his real yet self and also he was injured two days before the game, but in the end he took the ball and led the Reds to the 71-66 road win over EA7 Milano.

The game was close from wire to wire. The hosts finished the first quarter leading by 23-20, Olympiacos was up by 49-47 at half time and EA7 Milano had again the 54-52 lead with a buzzer beating shot by Krunoslav Simon at the end of the third period.

A big three by Giorgos Printezis put Olympiacos up again (62-60) with 5 minutes left and it was obvious that everything will be decided in the smallest of details. With 2/2 free throws by Patric Young, the Greeks got a 64-60 advantage, but Krunoslav Simon and Alessandro Gentile answered and tied the game (64-64) with one minute left.

Vasilis Spanoulis gave the lead again to Olympiacos (66-64), Simon couldn’t tie the score this time and Printezis with a goal foul decided the outcome (69-64) after a missed three by Vangelis Mantzaris and an offensive rebound by Matt Lojeski.

Young with 18 points was the top scorer of the winners, Giorgos Printezis had 16 points and 6 rebounds and Vasilis Spanoulis added 14 points. Alessandro Gentile had 24 points for the hosts but Simon with 11 points was the only other double digits scorer.
