Panathinaikos had two chances in the last seconds to send the game to overtime but both Dimitris Diamantidis and Sasha Pavlovic missed and Zielona Gora got the big 71-68 win over the Greeks!
That been said, Panathinaikos without James Gist had defensive issues and Zielona Gora took advantage of them, getting the 40-33 lead at half time. To be exact the hosts never lost the lead, got a 59-51 advantage at the start of the last quarter and despite the effort of Panathinaikos kept it until the end.
The guests made it a one point game (61-60) with three minutes to go, but couldn’t get any closer. Mateusz Ponitka with 13 points and Dejan Borovnjak with 12 were the top scorers of the winners, while James Feldeine had 15 points for the Greeks, but couldn’t get any help. Panathinaikos shot just 5/27 threes (18%) and 13/25 FT (52%). Those numbers made things even worst for the Greeks who have lost all three of their road games so far.
