A great career came to an end recently and Hedo Turkoglu immediately made the next step, as he became an executive member in the Turkish Basketball Federation.

The best basketball player of Turkey in the past few years, who played 997 games in the NBA, decided to retire at the age of 37 and will now act as the Executive Director of the Turkish Federation.

During his official presentation, which took place today, Turkoglu said: “It’s the beginning of a new chapter in my life. I will try to represent Turkey in the best possible way around the world! I think I will be able to help the Turkish basketball with the experience I acquired during my career. I will share my thoughts with the federation’s board of directors in order to achieve the best result. Here [at TBF] I’m going to do everything I can for our people and youth. I’m someone who gives a lot of importance to Turkish sport. My wish is for there to be Turkish basketball players around the world, and that they represent us in the best way possible. We have to put forward a vision for our young people.”

Erdenay commented: “In addition to his fantastic NBA career, nearly every summer Hidayet represented Turkey on the national team and inspired millions across our country. As CEO Hidayet will continue to serve Turkish Basketball, and our federation will benefit from his experience and leadership.”
