Barcelona was dominant in the first and third quarter and easily prevailed over Karsiyaka at home (107-79). This was the fifth win for the hosts in group C (5-1), who also set a new record, as the 107 points they scored are the most in the club’s history in the Euroleague. On the other hand, the Turks suffered their fourth defeat (2-4).
For the winners, Shane Lawal scored 19 points, with four more players being in double digits, whereas Joe Ragland had 26 points and seven rebounds for the losing squad, as Kenan Sipahi added 13 points and seven assists.
In the beginning, Barcelona played well on both ends of the floor and was in front by 10 at the end of the first quarter (26-16). Later, Karsiyaka managed to remain as close to the Blaugrana as they could and the first half ended with the Spaniards having an 11-point lead (48-37). In the third quarter, Xavi Pascual’s players exploded, outscored their opponents 31-20 and extended their advantage to 22 points (79-57). In the last quarter, nothing changed significantly, as Barcelona continued to be unstoppable offensively (28 points) and as a result, they claimed an easy victory at home, which was their fifth straight in the competition.
