Behind the amazing night of Luke Harangody, Dogus Darussafaka got the 68-60 road win over win-less Dinamo Banco Di Sardegna Sassari. The American forward was the star of the show with 26 points, 13 rebounds and 3 assists.
And it’s not only about the numbers. Ten of Harangody’s points came in a 13-0 run of the guests in the third quarter that decided the outcome. David Logan had given the lead to Sassari (38-37) in the 22nd minutes, but after five minutes Darussafaka was leading by 12 points (50-38). The hosts tried to get back to the game, they cut the lead to six points (66-60), however that was the best they could do.
Emir Preldzic with 11 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists was also one of the stands outs, while Semih Erden with 10 points and 8 assists also had a good game. For Sassari, which already has to think about the Eurocup, Joe Alexander scored 17 points, but the perimeter shooting of the team was mediocre (24% in threes) and without the long-range shots going in, the Italians can’t really compete with anyone.
