New York Knicks hadn’t won in Houston for 11 years. Kristaps Porzingis, though, decided to break this tradition and led his team to a triumph over the Houston Rockets (107-102), with another dominant performance.
It was a close derby between two teams which were fighting tooth and nail to earn the victory. Carmelo Anthony (14 points on 5 for 10 shooting) didn’t try to be the leader, but let Porzingis take matters into his own hands.
The Latvian was simply unstoppable, as he scored 24 points on 8 for 12 shooting (2/3 from the three-point range), while he was perfect from the free-throw line (6/6) and also grabbed 14 rebounds, dished out two assists and had seven blocks as well! What more could his coach expect from him?
Aaron Afflalo also played well, scoring 16 points on 6 for 17 shooting, while Jose Calderon had 11 points and seven assists. On the other hand, James Harden had 24 points and 10 assists, while Klint Capela had 16 points (on 7 for 9 shooting) and 14 rebounds, trying to cover Dwight Howard’s big gap.
