Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv finally got its second regular season win on the road against Dinamo Banco Di Sargedna Sassari. And as you can guess by the 76-74 final score, it wasn’t easy.
The Israelis had the lead from the start, getting a 20-15 advantage from the first period and keeping it for most of the game, but Sassari was in the game until the last moment. Two former Maccabi players who are currently members of the hosts decided the final score. First Marquez Haynes made it with a three a two points (76-74) game with 37,7 seconds left in the game and then after Maccabi failed to score, Joe Alexander missed the last shot of the game, a three which would had given the win to Sassari.
Haynes had an amazing game with 26 points in total, however Maccabi got the win and can still hope to catch the Top16 train, on the contrary to the Italians who are still in search of their first win. For the winners Taylor Rochestie made the biggest shot of the game, giving to Maccabi a 76-71 lead in the last minute which proved to be enough. Jordan Farmar and Devin Smith missed the game due to injuries and their absences proved to be quite an issue with Sylven Landerberg with 19 points was the top scorer. Still Maccabi with a 2-6 record after this game can still hope for a place in Top16 against Dogus Darussafaka.
