Dogus Darussafaka got the 63-57 win over Unicaja Malaga and with a 4-4 record remains the favorite for the last open Top16 ticket of Group D.
Reggie Redding and Milko Bjelica were the players who decided the outcome, scoring the last 16 points of the hosts, including a 14-0 run which gave to their team a 12 points advantage (63-51) with three minutes left. Unicaja made it a six points game one minute before the final buzzer, but couldn’t get any closer.
Redding finished the game with 19 points and Bjelica added 18. Nemanja Nedovic with 13 points was the leader of Unicaja until the third quarter, Edwin Jackson added 11 points, but missed two three pointers which could have given a last winning chance at Unicaja by making the score 63-60.
Dogus Darussafaka had now a 4-4 record and a two wins advantage against Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv (2-6). Even with two defeats in the last two games, provided that they will not lose by more than 10 points by Maccabi at Istanbul in their last regular season game, the Turks will qualify to the Top16.
