It was an amazing game which ended after two overtimes as Khimki got the 101-88 win over Lokomotiv Kuban for the VTB United League. Without coach Giorgos Bartzokas who traveled to Greece for the funeral of his father, his team pushed the hosts to their limits.
Alexey Shved with 32 points, 12 assists and 7 rebounds – also 7 turnovers – was the leader of Khimki, Tyrese Rice send the game to overtime and also lost the chance to win the game in the first five extra minutes. They same happened with Malcolm Delaney and Victor Claver, as all of them missed three pointers in the closing seconds. In the second overtime Khimki finally prevailed with a 19-6 partial score.
Meanwhile CSKA also got the Monday win and leads the league standings with a 9-1 record, followed by Zenit (7-1), Unics Kazan (8-2), Khimki (7-3), Nymburk (7-4), Avtodor Saratov (6-4) and Lokomotiv Kuban (5-4). Click on the results to see the full boxscores.
