Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv can still hope to qualify in the Top16 after the crucial win over Brose Baskets Bamberg (85-65) in a game which was over at the third quarter.
The hosts, who were fighting for their Euroleague life, started the game with a 22-10 first quarter, never lost the lead and by the end of the third period they had a 20 points advantage (70-50). The Israelis had already made 15 three pointers by this point, they finished with 16-on-25 from beyond the arc for an impressive 64% efficiency. It was one of the best every shooting displays in Euroleague.
Sylven Landesberg finished the game with 19 points on 5/7 threes, Taylor Rochestie added 16 points and 7 assists and Jordan Farmar who was on the roster but he is coming from an injury, didn’t play at all. Daniel Theiss had 13 points for the guests, who have already qualified to the Top16 and that was evident in the difference of motive between the two opponents.
If CSKA Moscow beats Dogus Darussafaka, then Maccabi can qualify to the Top16 by defeating the Turks next week in Istanbul by more than 11 points.
