During the first half with Bayern Munich leading 38-36 everything was on the line. However, just after 7 minutes into the second half the champs were back on the way to a 86-67 road win.

The Spaniards needed this result in order to make a decisive step towards Top16 and with a 21-2 run which made the score 57-40 made things easy. For the first 20 minutes, Bayern more than held its ground with former Real Madrid member KC Rivers leading the score with 13 points. Still the story was much different at the end. Gustavo Ayon and Sergio Llull led the explosion of Real and finished the game with impressive numbers.

Ayon had 22 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 blocks and 6 steals, while Llull scored 18 points and dished 5 assists. Sergio Rodriguez also had a key role in the win with 9 points and 10 assists. Rivers finished the game with 22 points and 6/7 threes, but neither he, or anyone from his teammates could react during the third quarter run of Real.

Τhe two teams are now tied with a 4-5 record, but Real has the tie breaking advantage because they have beaten twice the Germans during the regular season. Bayern missed a great chance to advance to Top16 and the reaction of coach Svetislav Pesic doesn’t need any explanation.
