Panathinaikos ended the Euroleague regular season with a 75-72 road win over Zalgiris Kaunas and finished third in the final standings of Group C, avoiding a Top16 clash with arch-rival Olympiacos.
Nick Calathes with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists was the leader of the winners, James Feldeine added 14 points and Sasha Pavlovic finished the game with a double double (12 p., 10 r.). Dimitris Diamantidis was the player who made one of two free throws in the last possession of the winners and Brock Motum missed the last shot of the game which could have send it to overtime.
Olivier Hanlan scored 19 points for the hosts but it was not enough, as Zalgiris finished fourth and is expected to have much harder opponents in its Top16 group.
