Darius Johnson Odom is the new and unexpected addition on the roster of Olympiacos, just in time for Euroleague’s Top16. The American guard left Trabzonspor and has a deal with the Reds.
Odom is the 7th non Greek player in the roster of the team and only six can be registered in the Greek league. That makes Odom an addition first and foremost for Euroleague, where there’s no limit on nationalities. With Matt Lojeski injured and Vasilis Spanoulis having also missed his share of games, the Greeks champs felt that they needed an extra player in their back court.
Odom was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers back in 2012 and he has been also a member of Spartak St.Petersburg and Cantu. The deal can be extended until the summer of 2018 (6 months+1+1) and it was confirmed via twitter by his agent Misko Raznatovic and later by Olympiacos.
