As officially announced by Maccabi Tel-Aviv, Jordan Farmar is no longer a member of the Israeli team, as his second spell in the squad proved to be a short one.
Farmar played eight times for Maccabi in the Euroleague, averaging 8.9 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.9 assists in almost 21 minutes of action. He also played 12 games in the Israeli league, averaging 10.5 points and 4.1 assists in 25 minutes of action.
Gal Mekel is Farmar’s replacement as the club announced officially. The Israeli guard signed a contract until 2019 for a total of two million US dollars. “I am happy to return to my country and play for a big team like Maccabi”, said Mekel who was recently released by Crvena Zvezda.
