Not only Sarunas Jasikevicius is the new coach of Zalgiris Kaunas, but he extended his contract with the team until June 2018 as he takes the next step in his career.
Jasikevicius replaced Gintaras Krapikas, doing what he was expected to do since he ended his playing days. One of the best, if not the best, point guard of his generation in Europe, Saras is expected to become part of the coaching elite and the question is if Zalgiris will keep him until 2018, since many other teams may come knocking for his services. An other former player, Darius Maskoliunas, will be Saras’ assistant in Zalgiris.
