Just five days after the road win of Anadolu Efes for the Turkish Super League at the road against Dogus Darussafaka, the result didn’t change with the team of Duda Ivkovic played at home.
This time things were easier for the hosts who got the 82-71 win thanks to a good second period. It was a balanced effort by Efes with Jason Granger (15 p., 8 r.) and Derrick Brown (13 p., 8 r.) leading the way and Cedi Osman adding 12, while Thomas Heurtel dished 10 assists. Scottie Wilbekin had 20 points for the guests.
During the first quarter Darussafaka was in the game, getting a 15-14 lead after 10 minutes. This changed in the second period with a partial score 22-12 in favor of Anadolu Efes. Defensive pressure was the key, while Jason Granger scored all of his 10 first half points in the quarter. Efes controlled the boards and kept Darussafaka in check as the guests were shooting near 35% in two points shots.
The 36-27 half time lead of Efes was protected almost until the final buzzer. Nothing changed in the third quarter (61-51), but two threes by Ender Arslan made it a four points game (61-57) in the 31st minute.
The quick reaction of Efes was a 7-0 run which was completed with a three by Granger, order was restored (68-57) and Darussafaka couldn’t get into striking distance again. A bucket by Dario Saric gave a 14 points lead to Efes (78-64) with 2,5 minutes on the clock and the game was practically over.
