As FIBA announced the Philippines, Italy and Serbia will each host one of the three FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournaments. As it was reported from Italian media a few days ago two European countries and one from Asia got the tournaments.
The inclusion of Italy and Serbia, two teams which have finished on the top7 of the last Eurobasket means also that eight Latvia and ninth Croatia just got the ticket to the tournaments. Serbia finished fourth on Eurobasket 2015 and Italy was sixth. From Asia, Lebanon which finished 5th in the last Asia tournament gets the extra ticket.
The draw of the pre-olympic men and women’s basketball tournament will be held on 26 January in Mies. Switzerland.
