According to the Turkish newspaper “Milliyet”, Zeljco Obradovic’s punishment was the main topic of discussion in the meeting between the head coaches and referees.
According to the report, Obradovic wanted to find out why he was punished, with Hedo Turkoglu (who was the federation’s representative) responding: “The referees don’t speak Serbian, but can understand some “bad” words in Serbian.” Fenerbahce’s coach wasn’t satisfied with the answer and asked again: “Have the referees been punished for their mistakes during the game?”
With the referees having, actually, been punished, “Zoc” wanted to know what the punishment was. However, he was told that he can’t receive an answer for that, because those punishments can’t be made public, just like the players’ punishments are not made public by the teams.
At that point, Ergin Ataman intervened, mentioning that: “We are well-known coaches in big clubs. It’s reasonable that there are reports about us.”
