An impressive 30-11 run in the second quarter helped CSKA Moscow destroy Brose Baskets at home (91-70). This was the third win for the Russians (3-2), whereas the Germans suffered their third defeat (2-3).
For the winners, Nando De Colo was tremendous, with 19 points and six rebounds, as Milos Teodosic added 14 points and six assists for Dimitris Itoudis’ team. On the other hand, four players scored in double figures for the losing squad, with Elias Harris having 11 points and six rebounds.
Brose Baskets made a better start to the game (9-15), however the Muscovites responded and went on an 8-2 run to tie the game (17-17), as the hosts ended the first quarter in front by just two (25-23).
Later, though, things changed. CSKA Moscow’s players enhanced their overall performance and outscored their opponents 30-11 to close the first half with a 21-point lead (55-34), with the visitors playing mediocre on both ends of the floor.
In the second half, the situation remained the same. The Russians continued to have complete control of the game (64-36) and easily retained a double-digit advantage, after 30 minutes in the game (73-50). In the fourth quarter, the Germans were unable to make a come-back (85-59) and, consequently, the “Bear” claimed an easy home win.
