Panathinaikos‘ administration mentioned last week that will do its best to strengthen the team’s roster, with Marquez Haynes having officially signed with the Greens.
However, the Greek squad also wants to acquire a player, who will enhance the team’s performance inside the paint. According to the Spanish journalist, Chema de Lucas, one of the Greens’ targets is Karsiyaka’s center, Colton Iverson.
Iverson played for Karsiyaka in Euroleague’s group stage, averaging 9.9 points and 4.9 rebounds per game, however he is available to play for another team in the competition.
Eurohoops.net is aware of the Turkish club’s intention to retain the American center to its roster, while there is no buy-out as well. Consequently, it’s not likely that Panathinaikos will sign Iverson.
In the meantime, a Chinese club has made a very lucrative offer to the player, so the situation is now much more difficult for Sasa Djordjevic’s squad.
Panathinaikos is interested in ex Baskonia Colton Iverson, now in Pinar Karsiyaka (Turkey). Today he had 17 points against Besiktas
