Bogdan Bogdanovic and Ekpeh Udoh had 15 points each, however Melih Mahmutoglu with 14 was the hero for Fenerbahce which beat Anadolu Efes on the road (77-73) and remains the only unbeaten team in Euroleague’s Top16.
The game started with both teams being almost tied for most of the time. The first period ended with Anadolu Efes having a 21-18 lead – as Cedi Osman’s amazing half court three didn’t beat the buzzer – and Fenerbahce managed to get a 29-26 lead. After that and until the end of the first half Anadolu Efes got the upper hand. The hosts build a 39-31 lead thanks to a 10-2 run and managed to go to the locker rooms with a six points lead (41-35) as Osman had already scored all his 15 points. Bobby Dixon with 10 points kept things close for the guests.
The second half started with a three by Thomas Heurtal (44-35), but Fenerbahce managed to make it a three points game (48-45) after an other three by Luigi Datome. Anadolu Efes reacted with a 6-0 run (54-45), however it was not enough. Thanks to two big shots beyong the arc by Melih Mahmutoglu, one at the end of the third period and one at the start of the fourth, Fenerbahce finally got a one point lead (58-57) and everything went back to square one.
With Bogdan Bogdanovic reaching the 15 points mark, the team of coach Zeljko Obradovic got a four points lead (64-60). Anadolu Efes tied the game again (64-64) after Dario Saric’s 12th point and once more Majmutoglu with two crucial shots gave a 69-64 lead to Fenerbahce with four minutes to go. Efes made it a one point game (71-70) thanks to Derrick Brown, but Fenerbahce closed the game the right way with a 6-0 run which included a shot by Dixon, a free throw by Ekpeh Udoh and one more big three by Mahmutoglu. The game was over and Dario Saric managed to cut the final points difference to four with a three at the buzzer.
