Two derbies this Week for the Turkish Super Basketball League. While Galatasaray took a superb, yet not easy, road win against Anadolu Efes, Fenerbahce brought fire and brimstone over Darussafaka in the second half of their game. In total contrast with the first two periods, Oktay Mahmuti’s team was quite disappointing after its return from the locker rooms showing absolutely no resistance to the appetites of their opponents. As for Fenerbahce? Coach Obradovic even had the chance to give lots of playing time to young players like Berk Ugurlu or Omer Yurtseven.
Fenerbahce (13-4) grabbed this opportunity in order to catch up with Anadolu Efes (13-4) at the peak of the standings, while Galatasaray looks threatening at the third place (13-5). Darussafaka (10-7) lost some precious ground and is now sixth.
Banvit (11-6) and Karsiyaka (11-6) showed the character that distinguishes them from the rest of their teams underneath them and they did that on the road, to remain tied at the fourth position of the standings. Meanwhile, Usak Sportif (8-9) climbed higher after winning Ted Ankara, and Gaziantep (9/8) still flirts with the playoff spots.
