Euroleague Basketball is proud to announce the clinicians for the 2016 Turkish Airlines Euroleague Final Four International Coaches Clinic. A new roster of coaching giants will be on hand at the clinic, which will take place in parallel with the season-ending climax in Berlin, from May 13 to 15, 2016.

For the third year in a row, Giorgio Gandolfi – Sport Marketing, Events and Communication is partnering with Euroleague Basketball to present another outstanding clinic. This year’s edition will take place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with all sessions being held at the Sporthalle Schoeneberg, Monumentenstrasse 13 C, 10829, Berlin.

Three-time EuroBasket champion Sergio Scariolo, head coach of the Spanish national team will headline the event. Scariolo has also won a Summer Olympic Games silver medal and two Spanish ACB League titles and taken Unicaja Malaga to the 2007 Euroleague Final Four while coaching 12 seasons in the continent’s top competition during his distinguished career. He has been active as a head coach across four decades including stints with Euroleague teams Real Madrid, Unicaja Malaga, Khimki Moscow Region, EA7 Emporio Armani Milan and Laboral Kutxa Vitoria Gasteiz. Scariolo has been named Spanish Coach of the Year once.

Former NBA head coach Mike Brown, in charge of the Cleveland Cavaliers from 2005-10 and again for the 2013-14 season, will also be featured at the clinic in the German capital. Brown was head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers for the 2010-11 season and was named 2008-09 NBA Coach of the Year.

The third participant is John Patrick, current head coach of MHP RIESEN Ludwigsburg. Patrick played under legendary Morgan Wooten at DeMatha Catholic High School before graduating from Stanford. Having played professionally in Japan and Germany, he has since coached in both countries, beginning in 2000. Patrick has been named German Coach of the Year twice.

This year’s clinic will also feature a personal trainer, Brandon Payne of Accelerate Basketball Training. Payne blends basketball skills training with strength, speed, and agility work. The list of players that work with Payne include Cory Higgins of CSKA Moscow as well as reigning NBA MVP and champion Stephen Curry.

“The Euroleague Final Four includes four incredible games of basketball, but for many years now is also the meeting point for the European basketball community. It is wonderful that Giorgio Gandolfi has been able to recruit another elite group of coaches and personal trainers to transfer their knowledge to coaches attending the clinic coming from across the world,” Eduard J. Scott, Euroleague Basketball Chief Operations Officer, said. “We hope that the 2016 edition of the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Final Four International Coaches Clinic will be even better than the 2015 edition in Madrid, so we encourage all interested basketball coaches to pre-register online. In the coming weeks we will be sharing details about other parallel events that will make Berlin the home of European basketball for four days in May.”

“It is wonderful to count on the support of Sergio, Mike, John and Brandon. Together with Euroleague Basketball and all of the other sponsors and partners we are proud to bring an event of this calibre to Berlin, and to Germany. The four clinicians are reference points for basketball coaches, and will be sharing their tactics, techniques and strategies with attendees,” Giorgio Gandolfi, Founder & Principal of Giorgio Gandolfi – Sport Marketing, Events and Communication, added. “We have already fulfilled the goal of making the clinic international and globally relevant: in its third edition, we now are working hard to reach the next level.”
