After two consecutive negative results, two of the protagonists during this season in the French Championship, smiled once again at the end of a game. Monaco (14-6) defeated Nancy (7-13) in a match where both teams could have gotten the victory. Yet the hosts succeeded in some plays during the final three minutes that made a serious difference, while their opponents made some costly turnovers.
There was no option other than victory for Gravelines (14 – 6) against the, last in the standings Havre (1-9). Yet this win didn’t come easily, since the guests were tenacious enough to hope for a surprise. Only during the final quarter, did the club from northern France show its superiority.
Strasbourg (14-6) kept its winning streak, while Dijon (10-10) stunned Nanterre (13-7) on the road. Meanwhile, the reigning champs, Limoges (10-10), keep fighting to climb in the playoff spots, taking the win away from home versus Villeurbanne (12-8).
In the last game of the Week, Pau Orthez (12-8) broke Le Mans (14-6)… “sweet loneliness” at the top of the standings. Now have a four way tie with Monaco, Gravelines, Strasbourg and Le Mans.
