Four postponed games for the 19th Day of the German Bundesliga were set to be played this week, before the “Top Four” tournament for the first trophy of the season: the Cup. Let’s see what happened in all four matches.
In Berlin, Alba suffered a painful defeat to s.Olivers Basket (83-90), despite its effort to make a come-back in the second half.
The visitors took a double-digit lead at the end of the first half (36-47), as they outscored their opponents 11-21 in the second quarter. With the hosts managing to cut the deficit to just five at the end of the third quarter (57-62), s.Oliver Baskets stood tall in the fourth one and earned a big victory on the road.
Quite the show was given by Oldenburg and Ludwgsburg in what was, without a doubt, the most intense match on Tuesday. The hosts’ control during the first half, crumbled down in the third quarter, since their opponents were not ready to give up so easily.
Everything was up for grabs in the fourth quarter, but during the last minute, and with seconds to go, Ludwigsburg’s Jon Brockman made an offensive foul that let Oldenburg have one extra key possession, which brought two free throws that, more or less, judged the final outcome.
The two leaders of the standings, namely Brose Baskets and Bayern Munich, faced no serious opposition in their own games, and seem more than ready to battle each other in the first German Cup semifinal.
