It was a game to remember and in the end Real Madrid escaped with the road 90-86 win over Brose Baskets. Felipe Reyes with 4-on-4 free throws in the last 69 seconds secured the outcome while Gustavo Ayon made the biggest play of the night with a block over Bradley Wanamaker.

This was also the game in which Real Madrid’s captain Felipe Reyes scored 18 points and (2.356 p.) surpassed Sarunas Jasikevicius (2.343 p.) as the 9th all time Euroleague scorer. With the score being 86-88 both Nikos Zisis and Sergio Llull missed their three points attemps and Ayon secured the outcome with Reyes scoring the last two points of the game after his teammate’s block. Lull had 21 points for the winners who now have a 5-3 record and Darius Miller scored 20 for the losing side (3-5).

The hosts started the game with a 16-6 run, led by 11 points (26-15) with less than two minutes left in the first quarter, but Real Madrid answered with a 8-0 run, finished the period with 7-on-8 threepointers and trailed only by three points (26-23).

After that, the real game started with the two teams fighting until the end. Thanks to a buzzer beater by Jeffery Taylor, Madrid finished the first half with a one point lead (46-45) and later got a 7 points lead in the third period (57-50). Brose Baskets returned, made a one point game (60-61) and after 30 minutes of action the guests were leading by seven (72-65) as Sergio Llull already had 18 points, shooting 5 on 6 threes.

Nikos Zisis couldn’t beat the buzzer at the end of the third, but with a 12-2, Brose Baskets once more came back to the game and got the 77-76 lead with 7 minutes left on the clock and Bradley Wanamaker reaching 16 points on 5-on-7 field goals. Four minutes later Darius Miller tied the game at 84 and the scene was set for the thrilling finale.
