The game between Olympiacos and Barcelona, in Spain tonight includes a unique clash: The one between the two top scorers ever in Euroleague, in total numbers: Juan Carlos Navarro and Vassilis Spanoulis
“La Bomba” has scored 3807 points with the jersey of Barcelona, never playing with any other team in Europe, while V-Span is right behind him with the 2893 he had scored playing for Panathinaikos and then Olympiacos.
Let’s analyze their scoring a bit more.
– Spanoulis has a highest scoring average than “La Bomba”. The Greek combo guard has scored less points, in total, but has played a lot less games than the Spaniard legend. While Navarro has participated in 293 Euroleague games, Spanoulis has played in 213. Thus, he averages 13.568 points per game, with Navarro having an average of nearly 13 (12.99)
– On the other side, if we project Navarro’s scoring in 40 minutes per game, then he is the one with the better point average. Barcelona’s captain has 20.63 points per 40 minutes, while Spanoulis would have scored 19.3 points if he spent every minute of each game on court.
From now on, will most likely see Spanoulis playing for more seasons than Navarro, mainly because their age difference, so the gap in their total numbers will get decreased. However it is difficult for V-Span to reach Navarro’s numbers.
