The New Palau Blaugrana was presented on Tuesday at the 1899 Auditorium. Here are ten things you need to know about the sporting arena.
- Capacity to hold up to 12,000 spectators for sporting events and up to 12,500 for social and cultural events.
- Flexible and retractable seating configuration that adapts to each use.
- Asymmetrical design: a single seating bowl and an extension at the back of the stands overlooking the stadium..
- Specific features for each professional section and excellent views from all seats.
- Spacious, easily accessible and fully adapted for persons with reduced mobility.
- Food and hospitality services. 24 VIP boxes and four 4 skybars/lounges with court views.
- The ‘bowl effect’ of the tier will bring fans closer to the question.
- The New Palau Blaugrana will include an adjacent court with a capacity for up to 2,000 spectators, an ice rink fitting 800 fans and the FCBEscola facilities, with two football pitches.
- Maximum energy efficiency and environmental sustainability will be applied throughout its construction.
- Work on the New Palau Blaugrana is expected to start during the 2017/18 season and will conclude during the 2019/20 campaign.
