What was supposed to be a tough battle between the first and the second team ofr the standings in VTB League, sometimes looked like a minor skirmish with one specific squad completely overpowering the other. CSKA Moscow (23-2) strolled through Kazan, defeating Unics (19-3) far more easily than what the final score suggests.

CSKA was unstoppable right from the start, stunning the hosts and grabbing an early double digit lead halfway through the first quarter, which ended 11-28. Unics could not hold back the storm that their opponents have brought in “Basket Hall” and sometimes looked like mere spectators on court.

When some semblance of reaction started to appear from the side of coach Pashutin and his players, the ship had already sailed, since the guests casually preserved a safe deficit in their favor. Once more CSKA was more than impressive in its sublime offensive game, finishing the match with 27 assists while five players scored in double digit numbers.

Zenit (12-4) left the elimination from Eurocup well behind and focused its attention in VTB successfully, by beating Bisons (8-17), while Nymburk (13-9) took a very important victory against Krasny Oktyabr (9-13). The Czechs are now tied in the standings with Nizhny Novgord (13-9) that turned its engines on versus Kalev (6-16) in the fourth quarter, to win the game with no problem.
