Afternoon basketball show in Krasnodar for the VTB League one in which ended with a victory for the hosts. Lokomotiv Kuban took advantage of its momentum from the mid week Euroleague win versus Efes and now defeated Khimki Moscow 94 – 81.

Victor Claver was dominant on both ends of court scoring and rebounding abundantly (21 points/10 rebounds), while he also threw down 3 blocks on his opponents. Apart from the Spanish power forward, Chris Singleton finished the game with 18 points while grabbing 5 rebounds, while Malcolm Delaney dropped 16 points and dished 8 assists.

For Khimki, Tyrese Rice was the first scorer, having 19 points but with 5/13 field goals. James Augustine also provided lots of helps on offense with 12 points and 7 rebounds, but faced some problems on the defensive end.

What truly won the day was the quite efficient and balanced basketball that Lokomotiv put on court once more. The players of coach Bartzokas also made the best out of the 14 turnovers of their opponents, countering the 16 offensive rebounds of their opponents. For a team that thrives in transition basket, Khimki Moscow performed poorly, scoring only 4 fast break points.

Lokomotiv Kuban remains third in the standings, but has improved its record to 17-5, while Khimki Moscow is fifth with 16-7.
