Unics and Zenit hold their ground

Some prolific scoring games in VTB League where the major favorites faced a good deal of a serious opposition, but managed to show their superiority in the end.

Unics Kazan (20-3) needed a hefty second half performance by Keith Langford in order to return to victories and remain at the second place of the standings. While VEF Riga (7-16) proved to be a worthy opponent for over 20 minutes, the qualitative difference between the two teams became quite obvious as the game progressed, in favor of the team from Kazan.

In Zack Wright’s ideal debut (18 p. 4 a.) with the team, Avtodor Saratov (12-8) passed from Minsk like a storm against Tsmoki (7-14). Coach Antsiferov’s players played at a high rhythm, which kept being increased as the game progressed. Avtodor has improved its position in the standings, being now fifth.

Despite being down by ten points in the mid of the third period, Krasny Oktaybr (10-13) mastered its forces to take a sound victory versus Nizhny Novgorod (13-10), while Zenit (13-4) also used the momentum of a game changing 17 – 5 partial score in the second half to break the resistance of Nymburk (13-10) .
