Anadolu Efes (4-6) got a much needed roadwin (72-68) in Istanbul against Dogus Darussafaka (3-7) and can still hope to catch the playoffs train, after a game decided in details.
Despite Efes entering the last minutes with a 68-61 advantage, the hosts, without ejected coach Oktay Mahmuti on their bench, made a two points game (70-68) and had the chance to win it. However Reggie Redding missed the biggest shot of the game with 7 seconds left and Thomas Heurtel sealed the win with 2/2 free throws on the way to 21 points.
Anadolu Efes was leading for most of the game and finished the first half with a 34-26 lead thanks to Heurtel and newly added in the roster Elijah Johnson, who scored 9 points during the first 20 minutes of action. Near the end of the third quarter coach Mahmuti was ejected with a double “T”, but his players kept fighting until the final buzzer and almost completed a miracle come back.
From the losing side Scotty Wilbekin scored 17 points, Redding added 12 points and 7 rebounds, while Semih Erden had 11 points and 7 rebounds. Johnson finished the game with 11 points for Efes, Jayson Granger had 14 and Cedi Osman 13 points.
