23 teams invited to Eurocup

Few weeks ago, during a press conference in Moscow, Jordi Bertomeu revealed, among other things, that the new Eurocup will be smaller and be comprised with 24 teams.

Now, according to Gazzetta Dello Sport, Euroleague has sent invitations to 23 clubs for tomorrow’s meeting in Barcelona in order to present them with a three-year plan, and contract, regarding their participation in the Eurocup.

These clubs are the following:

AEK, Aris Thessaloniki (Greece),  Dinamo Sassari, Reggio Emilia, Trento (Italy), Limoges, Strasbourg (France), Besiktas, Galatasaray (Turkey), Unicaja Malaga, Valencia, Gran Canaria (Spain), Lietuvos Rytas, Neptunas Klaipeda (Lithuania), Crvena Zvezda, Partizan Belgrade, Cedevita (ABA League), Alba Berlin, Bayern Munich, Bamberg (Germany), Unics Kazan, Khimki Moscow, Lokomotiv Kuban (Russia).

We remind you that apart from the VTB League, the ABA League and the Spanish ACB, all other federations and leagues have already agreed to be a part of the joint venture for the upcoming FIBA Champions League.
