An amazing shot by Kyle Lowry couldn’t stop the Heat and the absence of Steph Curry didn’t make a difference for the Warriors against the Blazers.
Slovenian guard Goran Dragic scored 26 points, Dwyane Wade had seven of his 24 in overtime after Kyle Lowry’s half-court shot tied it at the buzzer, and the Heat beat the Toronto Raptors 102-96 on Tuesday in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference semifinal series.
British forward Luol Deng added 10 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 4 steals for the winners, while Lithuanian center Jonas Valanciunas had an amazing night for the Raptors with 24 points, 14 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and 3 blocks, but it was not enough.
In the West, Klay Thompson scored 27 points, gave Golden State its first lead of the game on a 3-pointer with 5:33 left, and the Warriors rallied to beat the Portland Trail Blazers 110-99 on Tuesday for a 2-0 lead in their Western Conference semifinal series. The partial score of the last quarter was 34-12 for the defending champs.
