While Dave Joerger who left the Grizzlies is according to most US media reports the favorite to be the new coach of the Kings, replacing George Karl, Ettore Messina seems to be also a candidate for this bench.
While Joerger is rumored to even get an offer of $12 million for three years, according to the local newspaper “Sacramento Bee” there’s a “Divac’s ongoing attempt to squeeze in a meeting with San Antonio assistant Ettore Messina during the Spurs-Oklahoma City postseason matchup”.
Messina’s name is mentioned almost as a candidate in almost every coaching opening and it remains to be seen if this is the summer in which he will became a head coach in the NBA after spending two seasons as an assistant with the Spurs and one as a special consultant with the Lakers.
