It was a game decided on details but in the end Unics Kazan got the 97-91 win over Zenit and the 2-0 advantage in the VTB League semifinals.
The hosts entered the last minute with just a two points advantage (91-89), but finished the game the right way, while Zenit tried with missed threes to turn things around. Keith Langford with 25 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and Quino Colom with 24 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists, despite coming from the bench, made all the difference.
Janis Timma with 23 points led Zenit, but missed two crucial threes at the last minute of the game. Now Unics needs one more win in order to qualify to the league Finals and probably get a spot in next season’s Euroleague.
