Krunoslav Simon scored 17 points and Alessandro Gentile added 11 plus 6 assists, as Olimpia Milano made the 1-1 in the semifinal series against Reyer Venezia by winning 78 – 65 in Pala Banco Desio.
It was an expected reaction by coach Repesa’s players who made their intentions clear right from the start, leading by 11 points after the first quarter and then going to the locker rooms for halftime with the score 47 – 25.
In something like a deja-vu from the teams’ first semifinal game, Venezia stormed into the third quarter outscoring its hosts 17 – 28! But Milano was not in a mood for giving up the entirety of its lead, and played strong defense in the final period to retain control of the game.
