It is safe to say that Galatasaray “struck gold” with the acquisition of Errick McCollum last summer. The American guard was pivotal in helping the team reach the ultimate goal of the season, by winning the Eurocup. Furthermore, he was also named MVP and member of the All-First team of the competition.
According to Eurohoops’ sources, keeping McCollum is a top priority in the agenda of the Turkish club. Ergin Ataman is also quite positive to this since he has been absolutely pleased with the way the player first adapted and then performed throughout the year, becoming nothing less than a star of the team.
It comes as no surprise that the coach of the “CimBom” wants him to be a part of a strong roster with which Galatasaray will also respond to the demands of Euroleague during the upcoming season.
Galatasaray will offer the player a new contract with an increased salary and McCollum himself has been quite warm to the idea of staying in the team. The talks between the two sides will begin after the conclusion of the Turkish Basketball Super League playoffs.
