Playing with their backs against the wall after the initial 2-0, Zenit St. Petersburg outperformed Unics Kazan, to win the game 82 – 67 and and get its first victory ever in the VTB League semifinals.
Ryan Toolson was spectacular during the fourth quarter in which he scored 13 out of his 23 points. He began his hot streak in a crucial moment for the game’s outcome, since Unics had managed to return from the 16-point halftime deficit, making it 58 – 56 in the beginning of the final period.
The American sharpshooter also added 5 assists and 4 rebounds to his statistics’ sheet, while Jannis Timma provided 12 points and 6 rebounds. For Unics Kazan, Keith Langford and Quino Colom scored 20 points each.
