It looks like we are going to have a Game 3 in the quarterfinal series between Gran Canaria and Laboral Kutxa. The team from Las Palmas performed brilliantly against their opponents, winning 87 – 79 and forcing a return to Vitoria.
With a rich offensive diversity evident by the fact that six of their players scored in double-digits, the hosts overpowered their opponents in the first half (49 – 37) and never looked back.
In just the 16 minutes he spent on court, Albert Oliver managed to finish the match as the top scorer and performer for Gran Canaria , with 13 points and eight fouls won. Despite his six turnovers, Alen Omic also did a pretty good job, with 12 points, plus 5 rebounds.
Even though Laboral Kutxa shot with 16/31 from behind the arc, it failed to produced the lot needed to contest their opponents’ more balanced game. Darius Adamas scored 20 points and dished 7 assists (but also had 7 turnovers), while Adam Hanga recorded 20 points, 4 rebounds and 3 steals.
