In an interview for the Spanish AS, Marc Gasol repeated his opinion that the San Antonio Spurs are the ideal team for his brother, Pau, while remarking that he deserved to have his Lakers jersey retired.
“I objectively think that the San Antono Spurs is the ideal team for Pau. For what they represent as a franchise, for the way they work, for having a winning colture. No matter what, they follow a marked course and do not change”.
When asked if he would want to see his brother play the last years of his careers at his side in the Memphis Grizzlies, Marc said that “That would be selfish, and it’s not my nature to think like that. He could end in any attractive place, like in Los Angeles where he won two rings and he deserves to have his jersey retired. He is lucky that for what he has sown over these years through his gamea and it will be special wherever he goes. Except from some specific team that choosing them wouldn’t make much sense, he has lot of options to pick from and decide what’s positive and good for him”.
