Real Madrid got what they wanted against Valencia, even though this time they waited until the final minutes of the game for it. With a 97 – 88 victory, their thousandth in ACB, the Madridistas made the 2-0 in the series and now need one more win in order to advance to the Finals.
Contrary to the first match, which was a complete blowout in favor of the “Whites”, this time Valencia fought back after a negative first quarter (19 – 10) and made it a close battle up until the last two minutes. It was then, and with the score 87 – 84 that Sergio Llull fired two consecutive three-pointers and Felipe Reyes scored four personal points for a 10-1 run that sealed the final outcome.
Llull was also the first scorer of Real Madrid with 19 points and Gustavo Ayon was once again flawless with 15 points (7/7 from the field) and 6 rebounds. No player of Valencia provided more than Bojan Dubljevic who finished the match with 18 points and 8 rebounds.
