More and more the name of Tomas Satoransky is mentioned as a possible addition to the Wizards‘ roster for next season. With just two guards, John Wall and Bradley Beal, under contract, this is more than logical.
The owner of the team, Ted Leonsis, spoke on the matter on CSN Mid-Atlantic: “It’s exactly what guys like you say we should do, right? We should use the second-round pick, take a player, stick him in Europe, let them develop and when they’re ready, bring them over. The question is, is he ready? Our basketball people and coach will decide but that was part of a plan. That is an asset maybe we can bring over and he can add a lot of value to the team.”
Vice president of basketball operations Tommy Sheppard has kept tabs on Satoransky and as Eurohoops had reported since May, the decision is already taken and the Czech guard is expected to leave Barcelona.
Satoransky recently extended his contract with Barcelona until 2020, but the deal includes multiple NBA out clauses and the Wizards can buy him out and sign him for next season.
