The president of Fenerbahce, Aziz Yildirim, said that there will be few changes in the team’s roster for next season and one key move is already completed.
According to Eurohoops sources, the Turkish club and Jan Vesely have already a deal for a new two-year contract which will pay the Czech forward-center a total of 6 million euros. Vesely was a priority for the team and one of the season’s standouts in Euroleague. The two sides were quick to reach an agreement and the only thing remaining is the official announcement.
Vesely will have an NBA out clause in his contract, but for the summer of 2017, so he is Istanbul bound at least for the 2016-17 season. There were many rumors about the possibility of Vesely returning to the NBA this summer, but Fenerbahce managed to keep him in its roster.
The general idea of the team’s planning is to keep their core intact and with one or two key additions be ready to compete once again for the Euroleague title, after being finalists in Berlin.
