The plans of Unicaja Malaga for the upcoming season aren’t just being set but are already put into great motion. The Andalusians have already reached an agreement with Dejan Musli and made quite the offer to Mindaugas Kuzminskas in order to persuade him to remain in the team.
According to Diario Sur, Dejan Musli is extremely close to Unicaja Malaga that wants to bolster its frontcourt with a young and really talented player. Musli completed an impressive Liga Endesa season with the colors of Manresa, averaging 13.8 points, 7.4 rebounds and 2 assists per game. He was generally hailed as one of the very best big guys of the championship.
Furthermore, a primary goal for the team is to keep Mindaugas Kuzminskas in its roster. Although convincing him to stay in Malaga might be difficult, considering the interest the Lithuanian forward has attracted by some big European clubs, Unicaja is ready to make him its highest paid player. Kuzminskas was surprised by this proposal, since he didn’t expect such a grand offer by the team. Still, it is less from what he might find from some well known Euroleague powerhouses, such as Fenerbahce.
After all, 2015/2016 marked the best year of Mindaugas Kuzminskas in Euroleague, where he averaged 12 points and 3.4 rebounds per game.
